Thor Olav Thorsnes Egeland
Managing Director
Thor is the VP and Managing Director of Statkraft Ventures with the aim to further develop and grow Statkraft’s successful venture business. After seven years in climate‑tech venture capital at Equinor Ventures, where he led global clean‑power investments, he transitioned in December 2023 to Statkraft to drive growth in the clean‑energy space.
Previously, Thor Olav spent 14 years at Equinor from 2009, progressing from investment analyst roles to Investment Manager in Equinor Energy Ventures. In 2021, he was appointed to lead Equinor Ventures’ global clean‑power strategy, where he served on the boards of portfolio companies such as eSmart Systems and Oxford PV.
He holds an MSc in Finance and Economics from the University of Warwick and has deep expertise spanning renewable energy, venture capital, and M&A.
